Pool Table Lights For Your Home Pool Table
Once you have your pool table you will need lighting to illuminate the table when playing. There are loads to choose from, from the traditional canopy type to light bars that have 2 or more lamps on them. The canopy type is basically an aluminum frame with 3 or more bulbs in them but are considered old fashioned these days and is quite expensive. Also they are heavy and need expert installation to stop them crashing down on the table. The bar types are lighter and easier to put up and you would need a 2 or 3 shade set-up for 6 and 7 foot tables, 4 or 5 shade for 8 and 9 foot American pool tables and a full six shade set for the larger snooker tables. The shades come in traditional green to red, blue, brass and chrome shades.
The latest types of pool and snooker table lights are based on the fluorescent strip lights with clever reflectors that direct the light onto the table and probably give the best light onto the table, with the drawback that the light is a tad clinical and not as warm a light as the old tungsten bulbs give. The upside is they last longer and use less electricity. They are also easy to put up but are very expensive, costing more than even the traditional canopy lighting.
Now when it comes to design classics, you can’t beat the American pool table light suppliers that supply lighting with all sorts of exotic shades from tiffany styles to Painted scenes on the glass. They are definitely worth a look if you have the money and will add a certain style to your games room.
